We are all well aware of the tragedy that has taken place in Haiti and i'm sure many of you have already done your part to donate something to help the victims of the earthquake. As a fellow Caribbean nation it touches very close to home, and being part of a large online community I feel that I have a responsibility to do as much as I can to help bring awareness to this cause. I thought for a while about setting up a PayPal account where members could donate money directly through the Scoop and I could somehow get this money to the appropriate facilitators over in Haiti. But then the question of doing this each time the account reached a certain amount, as well as providing proof that the money was actually getting to the right people brought up some difficulties. So instead I have decided to bring some more awareness to the cause and direct you to a list of charities which are doing their best to help the situation. So please guys if you have not yet made a donation, take a minute to read and if you can spare a few bucks give it a shot. The people of Haiti have suffered long before this devastating earthquake and it will be years before that country is back on its feet, your efforts are not in vain, and every little bit counts. Thank you!

Yele! A movement founded by Wyclef Jean. Just click the "Donate online now!" button. This is one of my favorites and I chose to seperate it from the rest because it has been in place long before the earthquake happened and was set up by Wyclef to directly impact the people of Haiti. Your money goes straight to the needy, no middle man!
